UK collection. Producer/arranger/songwriter Bob Holmes was a crucial figure in the underappreciated soul side of Nashville. Considering the number of tracks he was involved with on this and the previous CDs, Holmes can be described as Nashville's premier soul provider. Since we accessed the Ted Jarrett and Excello tapes for those earlier compilations, more music has emerged from Holmes' vault and elsewhere. This CD of his key cuts includes rare and unissued gems: "Tip On In Pt. 1" Slim Harpo, "Under Your Powerful Love" Joe Tex, "Somebody Somewhere" Gene Allison, "Steady" Eddie & Freddie, "Say Boy" Tydes, "Runaway Girl" Hytones, "Got to Get Used to You" Avons... 24 in all!
